
If you are a regular reader of the blog then you may have noticed that I did not post anything here in the last two days. Did you miss my writing? I surely missed writing in this blog. Actually, I went to a trip in The Sundarbans. I was out of electricity let alone Internet. I enjoyed the trip a lot although I am with all my heart a city man- not the person to be without modern facilities in a forest. Still, I enjoyed the trip to The Sundarbans as I could get a first hand experience of Bonbibi’s world.
So, you may wonder who Bonbibi is! She is a mythological figure in The Sundarbans. She is worshipped by many people who go to The Sundarbans for their profession. They are honey collectors, wood cutters, leaf collectors, fishermen and what not. They live near the forest and are in constant threat from attack of tigers. They believe that if they worship Bonbibi then they will be protected thanks to the miracle of Bonbibi.
