The speculation (of murder) regarding the death of Bob Woolmer seems to be true as the investigating Jamaica Police has recently confirmed that this great coach has been murdered. Scotland Yard, is now working with the Jamaican Police to investigate on the issue. So, you can realize that the incident is going to storm the cricket world. Already, former South African player Alan Donald has called for scraping World Cup Cricket 2007. However, ICC Chief Malcom Speed said that the storm would not have any impact on the ongoing World Cup Cricket 2007 and the tournament will continue.
CNN reported:
"This is not the first time that tragedy has visited a sporting event but what we must all do now is to show how resolute the game is by proving ourselves strong enough to move on from what has happened," ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed said in a statement.
"The best way to do that is for the teams that remain in the tournament to play out a great World Cup, something that will help put the smile back on the face of our great sport.
"By doing that we will demonstrate that cricket cannot be put off by a cowardly criminal act," he said.
World Cup chief executive and managing director Chris Dehring added: "We have reviewed security arrangements in conjunction with the ICC and local agencies and consulted with all the teams and they have told us they are comfortable with those arrangements.

I think it is really a matter of shame that such an incident happened in an international tournament like world cup cricket. However, I also support the decision ICC has taken on this issue. If World Cup is stopped due to this shameful incident then it would be proven that the criminals are strong enough to stop an international tournament. I just hope that ICC increases security for everyone.
