
Ahead of the upcoming World Cup Cricket 2007, the official merchandises of the ICC Cricket World Cup are now being sold in the different countries of
NDTV reported:
In order to tackle counterfeiting, only a limited number of shops can sell the official merchandise for the 2007 World Cup, and whether it's caps, t-shirts, glasses or mugs, they are all available under one roof.
"West Indies is the hottest selling item right now. Then it'sEngland and then," said Chander Prakash, Owner, Rainbow Stores. India Sales, however, are yet to really catch fire largely because the fans are yet to arrive for international cricket's biggest showpiece event.
Cricket is still limited to a limited number of countries in the world and most of the cricket playing countries are not rich. So, selling official merchandises is still not a big business. However, ICC needs to look after this matter more.
