India vs Bermuda: Batting and Fielding

Indian players and fans are still in a shock after losing to Bangladesh yesterday. However, they have no time to remain in shock as India has to play against Bermuda just after 24 hours. Indian players and coach need to work out the problem. Yesterday, India looked like an ordinary team. In fact, I am not inclined to say that losing to Bangladesh was an upset as Bangladesh dominated the match right form the beginning. Anyway, India has to win the remaining two matches convincingly in order to advance in the Super Eight stage.

I feel that Indian players need to focus on two areas- batting and fielding. I know that Indian captain Rahul Dravid is eager to keep Virender Sehwag in the team no matter how bad he plays. May be, tomorrow, he should make an exception. On the other hand, Indian fielding is terrible. I know that fielding cannot be improved all of a sudden but Indian players will have to work very hard.

Indian captain Rahul Dravid is determined to win tomorrow’s match and he is still hopeful that India would advance in the next stage.

IHT reported:

After being bundled out for 191 in an upset loss to Bangladesh on Saturday, India captain Rahul Dravid said his batsmen would use Monday's World Cup match against Bermuda to strike form.

India still expects to make the Super 8s by finishing first or second in Group B, which means it needs to beat Bermuda and 1996 World Cup winner Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka hammered World Cup rookies Bermuda by 243 runs last week.

"It's pretty clear what we have to do now. We have to win the remaining two games and win them convincingly," Dravid said. "We've got our task cut out. We've got our backs to the wall and must fight back."

Let us hope that India can indeed go to the next stage. More than the Indian fans, the sponsors would pray for the advancement of India in the next stage of World Cup Cricket 2007.
