India vs Sri Lanka: Comparative Analysis of Batting Strengths

Ahead of the upcoming match between India and Sri Lanka both the teams are now under a huge pressure as the loser of the match will probably be out of the ongoing World Cup Cricket 2007. I have already posted an entry on this important match of Group B. I think the match is going to be one of the most exciting ones of World Cup Cricket 2007. Now, I am going to write on the batsmen of the two teams.

First, I would like to say that after the match against Bermuda, Indian batsmen have got their form back and for sure, their confidence level has also piled up. Specially, the hard hitter opener Virender Sehwag, has got his rhythm back scoring a tremendous century against Bermuda. However, I think Sourav Ganguly might be more dangerous for Sri Lanka as he has been performing consistently since his coming back to the team. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are the two batsmen, who can drive a stream role over the opponent bowlers at anytime. If you think that these names are not enough then please add Yuvraj Singh and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Yuvraj Singh seems more matured now and Dhoni is always ready with his devastating batting.

On the other hand, for Sri Lanka, the two openers Upul Tharanga and Sanatth Jayasuria will be most important for their batting line up. However, I would like to bet on Kumara Sangakara as he is now probably the best batsman in the Sri Lanka team. Moreover, I want to add another name, Chamara Silva, who has the ability to make the difference in any match.
