Earlier, I posted two entries analyzing the batting and the bowling strengths of both India and Sri Lanka. These two former world champions are going to play just after one hour.  This is true that bowlers and batsmen always get much focus but for sure, you can not ignore the contributions of the fielders to the success of a team. An important catch or run out of a set batsman in a crucial situation can become the turning point of a match. Now, I am going to write on the fielders of both India and Sri Lanka who can play a vital role for their teams.

First, I would like to name Yuvraj Singh, one of the best fielders of present time, who is a skilled fielder in both checking runs and taking some flying catches. Moreover, Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar are very good at fielding. On the other hand, Sri Lankan fielders are also very well in fielding and have the ability to change the situation at any time. I think Tillakratne Dilshan is now the best fielder of the Sri Lankan team. Chamara Silva is another young cricketer of Sri Lankan team who is also good at fielding. Besides these two youngsters, Sanath Jayasuria, Mahela Jayawardene are always very hard working and good at both ground fielding and catching.

On an average, Sri Lankan fielders are much better than their Indian counterparts. In World Cup Cricket 2007 so far, Indian players have failed to impress me with their fielding. On the other hand, Sri Lankan players are doing in this department.

So, I hope that the world is going to experience some classic moments in all the three departments in the match between India and Sri Lanka. I have already stated in the previous entries that the result of the match will decide the world cup fate of three sub continental teams- India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. So, the fans of all these 3 teams will watch this match with hope and despair.
