Sri Lankan innings just finished and I have to say that I was impressed with Team India. All the players played well and restricted Sri Lanka to a modest total of just 254/6.

Indian bowlers bowled well from the first over and I was happy to see some significant improvement in fielding.

Sri Lankan batsmen failed to build any solid partnership. Whenever any partnership became threatening, Indian bowlers managed to break it. Tharanga scored 64 runs. LPC Silva scored a quick fire 59 runs. TM Dilshan scored 38 runs off 41 balls. Towards the end, Vaas and Arnold played well and took the Sri Lankan score to 250+. Jayasuriya, Jayawardene and LPC Silva got out very cheaply.

I was disappointed to see Harbhajan Sing giving away 53 runs from his 10 overs. Both Tendulkar and Ganguly bowled and they bowled fairly well. Agarkar and Patel bowled well.

The pitch looked to be batsmen friendly and India has the batting line up to chase this total and win the match. Don’t forget that it is a do or die match.
