Bangladesh is playing against Sri Lanka tomorrow in World Cup Cricket 2007. This match is very important for Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and India as well. Ahead of the match, I have already posted two entries on batting and bowling of the two teams. Now, I am going to write on their fielding strengths.
I think in terms of fielding Bangladesh is a bit ahead of the Sri Lankan team. Especially Aftab Ahmed, Mohammad Ashraful, Tamim Iqbal Saqibul and Saqibul Hasan are very good. In catching position, Shahriar Nafees is very reliable. On the other hand, there are some good fielders in Sri Lankan team too. First, Tillakaratne Dilshan is their best fielder. Moreover, Sanath Jayasuria, Chaminda Vaas can impress the fans with their good fielding. Mahela Jayawardene is very good in slipping position.

Bangladeshi players were not famous for their fielding in the past. However, it has changed a lot as most of the players in the team are young in age. So, they are agile. I was impressed with the way they fielded against India in their first match of the tournament.
Like millions of Bangladeshis, I am eagerly waiting for tomorrow. I am hopeful that Bangladesh will play very well. Of course, I am a great fan of Sri Lanka too and I will be very happy to see Sri Lanka winning the championship of World Cup Cricket 2007. I just want that the trophy of World Cup Cricket 2007 comes to South Asia- be it Bangladesh, India or Sri Lanka.
