After Bangladesh was awarded official status by ICC in 2007, many so called experts attacked the justification of Bangladesh being in the top level of World Cricket. Of course, the miserable performance of Bangladesh Cricket Team helped them in this regard. However, I am sure that these so called experts will be more careful next time before laughing against Bangladesh.

Today, I was going through some of the reports in international media about the greatest triumph of Bangladesh Cricket. Bangladesh is now in Super Eight stage of World Cup Cricket 2007. Frankly, I do not care even if Bangladesh Team loses all the matches in Super Eight stage (I know that they will one or two matches).

Yesterday, Bangladesh defeated Bermuda in style and ensured their place in Super Eight stage of World Cup Cricket 2007.

The Bangladesh cricket team's entry into the second round of the World Cup sparked wild celebrations around the country on Monday.

Coinciding with the 36th anniversary of their independence, flag-waving students from Dhaka University danced and sang in jubilation as others chanted "Tigers tigers Bangladesh Bangladesh."

Bangladesh beat Bermuda by seven wickets on Sunday in Trinidad to reach the second phase for the first time after they finished second in Group B behind Sri Lanka. Their win over debutants Bermuda knocked out India from the competition.

The celebrations even outstripped last week's festivities when thousands of cricket fans poured on to the streets following a five-wicket victory over cricketing giants India.

I am happy to see that Bangladesh Cricket is coming of age. Bangladeshi people are crazy about cricket and whenever Bangladesh wins they celebrate the success. I just wish that success in World Cup Cricket 2007 acts as a turning point for Bangladesh Cricket.
