India has lost yesterday’s match against Sri Lanka and this is perhaps the end of road for Team India in World Cup Cricket 2007. So, this is not a good time for the coach Greg Chappell. Many Indians are extremely unhappy with him. They surely want Greg Chappell to go as soon as possible. I wonder if BCCI bosses can keep him as the coach of Indian team any longer.

The performance of Indian cricket team was miserable under Greg Chappell. India have lost more ODI matches in 2006 than won. Of course, winning was not an important thing for Greg Chappell. He was busier with his effort to keep Sourav Ganguly out of the team than anything else. Ganguly is the most successful Indian captain of all time. Under his captaincy, India reached the final of World Cup Cricket 2003 and when Greg Chappell took charge as a coach India was in the second position according to the ranking of ICC. Greg Chappell was so occupied with the idea of keeping Ganguly out of the team that he was hardly concerned with the fact that India’s ranking in ODI cricket has only declined.
