Security is a major concern for any big sporting event now. ICC officials and West Indian officials are now working day and night to ensure smooth arrangement of World Cup Cricket 2007. So, the organizers of World Cup Cricket have banned Alcohol, Firearms, Flag poles etc in the ground. You do not need to be a scholar to understand that many people in the
Alcohol, an integral part of West Indies grounds, along with glass, plastic bottles, explosives, firearms and flag poles have been banned for the World Cup starting in the Caribbean Sunday.
This rule has been promulgated for the duration of the March 11-April 28 World Cup to safeguard the interests of the official sponsors and provide security to spectators. "Cricket fans who have, over the years, been able to take their alcoholic beverages, large radios, large umbrellas and several other items to local matches will now find that a number of these items are now banned," reported Jamaica Observer Tuesday.
These items will not be permitted inside
Sabina Park inKingston and the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium nearMontego Bay for the matches, the paper said. The same rule will be implemented for all 12 stadiums in nine venues for the tournament.

I am not happy with this decision either but I totally support the organizers. We need to have safe environment. Any bad incident would totally destroy the fun of World Cup Cricket 2007. We live in an age where security is more important than anything else. At the end of the day, if any serious lapse security happens then the organizers would have to take the responsibility.
What is your view about it?
