Australia vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lankan Bowling

Ahead of the final match of World Cup Cricket 2007, I have already posted an entry on Sri Lankan batting. The match will be held between Sri Lanka and Australia. Now, I am going to analyze the Sri Lankan bowling side.

Among the Sri Lankan bowlers, Lasith Malinga has already proven his potential in this world cup. He is a constant threat to the opposition batsmen with his spectacular bowling action. Lasith Malinga took 4 wickets in 4 balls against South Africa in this world cup. Moreover, Muttiah Muralitharan is the old soldier of the Sri Lankan team who has already written his name in the book of cricket legends. He is also in a good form at this moment. Muralitharan will, for sure, be motivated to do something special for his team as this would be his second world cup victory as he was the member of the world cup winning Sri Lankan squad of 1996 world cup.

Though it is true that Lasith Malinga and Muttiah Muralitharan have got a lot of media attention in this World CupCcricket, Chaminda Vaas, I think, is playing the most important role consistently for the Sri Lankan team. If you look at the matches of Sri Lanka, you can easily understand that how much consistence Vaas is in this world cup. In almost every match, he has taken some early wickets which made the task easy for other bowlers.

I am dying to see Sri Lankan bowlers destroying Australian batting in the final match of World Cup Cricket 2007.
