Bangladesh vs South Africa: Greatest Triumph for Bangladesh Team

Breaking News: Bangladesh has defeated South Africa by 67 runs.

Yes, I feel that this is the greatest victory for Bangladesh Cricket Team. It has come in World Cup Cricket and it has come against South Africa. In the ICC ranking, South Africa is the number one team. I was very happy because Bangladesh played like a hot favorite and won the match in style. Bangladeshi players played confidently.

Bangladeshi bowlers bowled their best. I was very happy with the fielding. Can you imagine two run outs? South African batsmen were under pressure from the first ball and they could never threaten the Bangladeshi bowlers. Only Jacques Kallis looked dangerous but he was out when he was on the score of 36.

Towards the end, Gibbs made a half century very quickly but it was too little too late.

All the Bangladeshi bowlers bowled economically. Mohammad Rafique and Abdur Razzak were superb.

Bangladesh batted first and scored 251 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. The star of Bangladeshi batting was Mohammad Ashraful. He scored 87 runs off 83 balls and scored 12 boundaries. Among other batsmen, Aftab Ahmed accompanied Ashraful in a good way. Mashrafe Mortaza scored a quick fire 25 runs from 16 balls. Among South African bowlers, A Nell took 5 wickets but his bowling was not enough to save his team.

Bangladesh won everything today. South Africa could only win the toss. So, what next for Bangladesh? Can we dream of reaching the semi-final in World Cup Cricket 2007?
