To the judges of American Idol, Sanjaya Malakar is surely not the most favorite contestant. Simon Cowell is in a ‘crusade’ against Sanjaya Malakar and he is giving everything except encouragement to Sanjaya Malakar in American Idol. Simon Cowell is not the only person who is giving Sanjaya Malakar a tough time. There are many other high profile people who are after Sanjaya Malakar.
They want Sanjaya Malakar to be out of American Idol as soon possible. They feel that Sanjaya Malakar is not a talented artist and he is tarnishing the image of American Idol as the best place to find the next big American musical talent.
About the criticism that Sanjaya Malakar is facing, Wikipedia wrote:
Simon Cowell told Extra that if Malakar wins, he will not return as a judge to the show,[11] even though he is contractually obligated to return.[12] The show's executive producer has predicted that Malakar will not win.[12] Some commentators have remarked that the judges seemed to have stopped giving thoughtful critiques of Malakar's performances due to their disdain that he has gone so far in the competition.[13][14][15] Randy Jackson went as far to remark that "I cannot even say anything on the vocals anymore", in his critique of Malakar after his performance during the top nine. Others, such as former contestant Constantine Maroulis, expressed concern that each week Malakar remains in the competition is further damaging the show's credibility as a search for the next big talent for the music industry,[16] and some believe that it could be a shark jumping moment for American Idol if Malakar wins.[17]
I really admire Sanjaya Malakar for the mental strength he has displayed so far. Honestly, I am 32 now (almost double the age of Sanjaya Malakar) and if I had suffered even just 10% of the criticism he faced, I would either quit or lose my nerve. Frankly, it does not matter to me if Sanjaya Malakar wins American Idol or not. Rather, I think that he has already won the battle. Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Constantine Maroulis should not be after Sanjaya Malakar anymore. They should be after the American people who are voting him and keeping him alive week after week.
