Sanjaya Malakar: An American Idol Unknown to India

Whenever I do any search about American Idol, Sanjaya Malakar seems to be occupying all the attention in Internet. Even Hillary Clinton knows about him. He is one of the most discussed persons in American today. Sanjaya Malakar is an Indian American and his father has Indian background.

 

Surprisingly, very few people in India know about the amazing run of Sanjaya Malakar at American Idol 2007. I could hardly find any material in Indian websites about Sanjaya Malakar.

 

Yes, some people in India know about Sanjaya Malakar but hardly anyone is interested about his success. This is very funny to me as Indian TV viewers can watch American Idol in Star World TV Channel.

A few weeks ago, Shilpa Shetty won the celebrity show Big Brother UK and Indians celebrated her success. So, it is interesting that most Indians do not know about Sanjaya Malakar.
