Bangladesh cricket team got a good start in the first test of the Grameenphone Test series after coming back to Test cricket for a long time. So, now fans expect something better in the Dhaka test from the host team. On the other hand, this test is memorable from another point of view. The second test match is going to be the farewell match for Dav Whatmore, the most successful coach of Bangladesh team so far. Dav Whatmore is going to depart Bangladesh team after this test and it is as usual that his students are keen to present a farewell victory to pay their homage to Dav Whatmore.
However, Dav Whatmore denies any such thing letting get into players’ mind. Rather, he urged the players to play positively giving up all emotions.

Cricinfo reported:
For one last time, Whatmore urged his team to show some fight and play sensibly. "It is still a serious game of cricket, and we are focused on not to repeat some of the mistakes we have been making," he said on the eve of the second Test, the first to be staged at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium
Bangladesh don't expect to win the match if it goes the distance. "We want to do the best we can and see where it takes us," Whatmore said. They had not played any Test cricket over the last year, before the previous Test in Chittagong. The Test they came close to upsetting Australia was their fifth of the 2005-06 season. Thrown out of practice again, they have found it hard to maintain an intensity level for five days.
Dav Whatmore came to Bangladesh as the head coach of its cricket team after World Cup Cricket 2003 had finished. Bangladesh made a disastrous performance in that world cup and then Whatmore came in the scene and changed the overall performance of team in his tenure.
