India’s Opening batsman Wasim Jaffer scored a brilliant century in the debut test of the Mirpur stadium. This is the series decider test match of the Grameenphone Test series. The first test of the series was a draw at Chittagong. This is the third test century of the Mumbai opener.
From the beginning of the day, Jaffer was batting well and executing the bad balls to the boundary. His superb batting performance gave a huge support to the Indian innings as India has not lost any wicket so far. Wasim Jaffer reached at 100 off 186 balls with 13 boundaries. However, after scoring 138 off 229 balls, Jaffer retired hurt from the field. Tomorrow, he is expected to come to bat again.
Wasim Jaffer showed his batting talent whenever he got chance in the test squad of the Indian team. Jaffer played for Mumbai in domestic cricket and in his second first class match he scored a triple century. Jaffer was first called to Indian team in 2000 against South Africa. However, his inconsistent performance could not let him continue playing for Indian team. Jaffer got his first test century against England in 2006. Then, against West Indies, Wasim Jaffer scored his career best 212 in the same year.
