The second test of the Grameenphone Test Series is now going on at Mirpur Stadium, Dhaka. Bangladeshi captain Habibul Bashar won the toss and elected to ball fast. However, Bangladesh bowlers could not take any wicket yet but the opening pair has already been broken as Dinesh Karthik left the field after being injured. However, Dinesh could score 82 runs off 153 balls before retiring hurt. At the end of the opening day, India piled up 326 runs without losing any wicket.
Captain Rahul Dravid is on the crease with Sachin Tendulkar after the first day of the last test. Wasim Jaffer scored his third test century of his career in Mirpur and became the first centurion of this ground. Jaffer reached 100 off 185 balls with 13 boundaries. Excellent batting performance of Jaffer boosted up India’s first innings. Earlier, in the first wicket Jaffer and Karthik had added 175 runs before Karthik left the field due to his injury.

Both Jaffer and Dravid put up a century partnership quickly. The wicket seems batting friendly and it is very usual to see India making a big score here in the first innings. Balls are coming into bat and bowlers are not getting any movement from the pitch. However, Bangladeshi fielders showed some bad fielding performance. So, it is to say that India is now in the driving seat and trying to impose a huge pressure on Bangladesh.
