Dinesh Karthik has got his first test century today in the second of the series decider test of the Grameenphone Test Series. His brilliant innings of 130 off 214 helped Indian team a lot. Yesterday, he got retired hurt after scoring 82 and today he reached at the landmark. In the innings, Karthik hit 16 well-executed boundaries. Dinesh Karthik played 12 Test and 15 ODI matches yet and this is the first international ton in his career.

This Tamil Nadu batsman first came to Indian team as a wicketkeeper. However, he has been serving with his bat continuously. As a result, he is now in the team as a solid batsman as Dhoni is the regular wicketkeeper. Moreover, his athletic fielding also helps India in the field. At one stage, Dinesh Karthik could not continue playing for Indian as Mahendra Singh Dhoni came in and took his place. However, before world cup cricket 2007, Karthik was called to Indian team and he went to Caribbean with Team India. However, Dinesh Karthik did not play any match in the world cup.

Having scored an excellent ton, Dinesh Karthik got out as he became the first victim of Mashrafe Mortaza in this test leaving India 492 for 2. I think Dinesh Karthik has a huge potential to serve India for a long time.
