Being blond may be a cool thing in Europe and America but it does not give you any edge in South Asia. Here, almost all the people have black hair and hardly anyone crave for having blonde hair. Especially, being blonde considered to be unattractive in countries like India. It’s not a taboo but most men would not like it and go for it.

Some Indian heroes are experimenting with this matter and more will try it. The fans are not very enthusiastic about this matter.

While Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Justin Timberlake are the hottest blond stars of Hollywood, Bollywood now has its own list: Emraan Hashmi in Kalyug, Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2, Jimmy Shergill in Delhi Heights and, recently, Bobby Deol in Jhoom Barabar Jhoom and, down south, Rajnikant in Sivaji. Looking different is a challenge, says style expert Gouri Kapur.

"If a film role requires a radically different look, then blond is the way to go. When we do makeovers, we choose blond because it’s the easiest way to look different. An overdose of blond could end up being garish, but on screen everything has to be larger than life," she says, adding that one must have the right attitude to carry off blond hair.

I surely hope that Bollywood directors become more sensitive about important things. At this moment, Bollywood movies may be popular in India but in the global level they have a long way to go to catch Hollywood movies in terms of fame and earning money. So, Bollywood directors and artists should focus on improving the quality of movies rather than experimenting with blonde heroes.
