You must have already known that Dav Whatmore has already expressed his desire to be the coach of Team India. Now, all are looking forward to the next board meeting of BCCI on June 4. Dav has recently said that was not similar to the former Indian coach Greg Chappell. Well, I feel that he is right. Dav Whatmore is totally focused on cricket but Greg Chappell was focused on keeping Sourav Ganguly out of the Indian team rather than improving the performance of Indian team.  

NDTV reported:

"There is an existence of stardom and you need to create more stars for people to continue in the game, for kids to be wanting to play cricket. Not such a big thing in India, Pakistan, in the subcontinent. There are other countries who spend a lot of money to have children play the game.

"I am totally different to Greg. We're all different. So, yes I have tried to understand as much as I can. And, to experience it first hand will be a huge experience. Captains have a huge role to play, they are the ones who make all the decisions," said Whatmore.

The 53-year-old, who's coached Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, says that India would be a logical extension, a bigger challenge in his coaching career. But, unlike Greg Chappell, this Australian knows that there can be no readymade blueprint for coaching sub-continental teams.

Dav Whatmore has earlier coached Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and with Sri Lanka Dav won 1996 world cup. Dav Whatmore brought magical improvement for Bangladesh team too. Now, let us see what he can do for Team India.
