Zorro:
This masked crusader was actually the character of a pulp magazine story series written by Johston McCulley in 1919. In McCulley’s story The Curse of Capristano, Zorro first appeared. At present, we see Zorro dressed in black; black mask covered up to his nose, black hat, and boots and a black Andalusian hat. Actually, the character of Cullye’s story did not wear such dress in the first place. In 1920, Douglas Fairbanks Sr. played the character of Zorro in The Mark of Zorro wearing black mask and black dress. From their Culley took the idea and used it later. Many say that McCulley actually found his inspiration to create this character from a novel, "The Scarlet Pimpernel;" but there are many other opinions. However, Mc Culley’s Zorro inspired the creation of masked crusaders like Batman.
