I have been covering news of Miss Universe 2007 for the last few days in this blog. So, I have been reading many of the news items about Miss Universe 2007 that were published in different websites in the last few days. Hardly anyone thought that Miss Japan Riyo Mori was a top favorite. So, from this point of view, Riyo Mori is surely a surprise winner.

Miss Japan Riyo Mori caused a major boilover today by winning the Miss Universe title in Mexico City.
Miss Mori, 22, wasn't among the top fancies for the event, which also featured Gladstone teenager and Miss Australia Kimberley Busteed, who missed out on the final 15.
Kimberley was a favourite for the Miss Congeniality award, but she also lost out in that category, this time to Miss China.
Of course, the Australian media thought that Miss Australia Kimberley Busteed was a hot favorite to win Miss Universe 2007. I am not surprised at all by this result. In Japan, women work side by side with man. Japan is one of the richest countries in the world. Japanese women have worked extremely hard to make the country prosperous. SO, it is time that the rest of the world appreciates the beauty and the talent of Japanese women. Like other Japanese women, Riyo Mori has worked extremely hard to win the crown of Miss Universe 2007.
