The second edition of Afro-Asia cup is on the field. You might have already known that Afro Asia Cup 2007 is a starless tournament. Many stars like Sachin Tendulkar, Muttiah Muralitharan are not participating in this tournament. So, the attraction of Afro Asian cup has been reduced significantly.
As far as I can remember, the same thing happed in its first tournament as well. One of the main objectives of organizing this tournament was to increase the popularity of cricket in these regions. What has happened is that this tournament has become a boring event for the fans.
To increase the attraction of this tournament, I think, the prize money of the tournament should be increased. Moreover, the number of Twenty20 matches should also be increased so that the tournament can attract many people in both the continents. The organizers need to do some brain storming to make the event more popular.
