It has happened just a few minutes ago and that is why you would not find it in most news sites in Internet. I saw the match live and I was impressed with Ana Ivanovic. Ivanovic defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova (of Russia) by 6-0 3-6 6-1.

I would not say that the match was one sided. Don’t forget that Kuznetsova was the third seed of French Open 2007. And, also Kuznetsova was the runners up of French Open 2006. So, it was a memorable victory for Ivanovic.

I think that French Open 2007 is the best performance for Ana Ivanovic in her career. If I am not wrong then this is for the first time that Ana Ivanovic has reached the semi-finals of a Grand Slam Tournament.

Ana Ivanovic is from Serbia and she is not the number two female Tennis player from her country. In the semi-final of French Open 2007, Ivanovic will play against the winner of the match between Anna Chakvetadze or Maria Sharapova.
