Indian cricket team has started a big journey in British peninsula through an impressive win against Ireland. However, despite that 9 wicket victory, Indian team is not in a relax mood ahead of the ODI series against South Africa. The ODI series will start from tomorrow. In the match against Ireland, the immature Indian bowling side could not impress at all. At one point, Ireland was 83 for 5 but at the end, they could put on a moderate score of 193. I cannot be optimistic about Indian team’s success against England and South Africa with this bowling side. It is true that batting is the strongest side of India but in English condition; you have to have some good bowlers especially in test matches. Moreover, the recent news is that some key players of Indian side have been ill and wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni may likely to miss the opening match of the ODI series.
South Africa also got their first victory in the tour against the host Ireland. Though they could not win in style, two newcomers showed some good performance which is a good side for the team. Vernon Philander showed a praiseworthy performance taking 4 wickets in his debut match. It is true that Shaun Pollock is not out of team but that will not make any difference as the young bowlers are getting success.
Now, it will be hard to predict anything about tomorrow’s match as both the team have taken some young players in order to find their future star. So, it seems that it will be a fight between newcomers.
