Public support for Prashant Tamang, an Indian Idol contestant, has transcended the Rangpo river, the great physical divide between Sikkim and Darjeeling and is increasing with each passing day since the knock-out round of the contest began on May 4.
Prashant, who hails from Tungsung village in
Darjeeling is presently in a music band of the Kolkata Police. Schools, clubs and even the police were asking people to support Prashant now named as 'Pahar ka Gaurav' (Pride of the Hills). This title bestowed upon Prashant by the masses somewhat sums up the emotions of the people of both regions.

I just want to say that being a judge Alisha Chinoy is not judging any of the contestants properly B'coz she is going on supporting Sohit even though he is giving his worst performances in comparison to the other contestants. We all know that Bhavin, Amit, Padmanav and so on r much more better than him than why is she denying it. I really hope that next year she won't be one of the judges coz i would hate such things to happen again. But still lets hope for the best.
