You know that the United Kingdom is one centralized country and even it does not have states or provinces like the US and India have. Yet, in sports and in many other competitions, the UK is divided in to four parts- England, Scotland, Welsh and Northern Ireland. So, I am not surprised that the same thing is happening about Miss World 2007. I have already written about Nieve Jennings, Miss Scotland 2007. Now, I am going to write about Melissa Patton- Miss Northern Ireland 2007.

Melissa Patton is just 19 years old and a former air hostess. She has to now seriously try for the final round of Miss World 2007. She has just 5 months to practice and improve herself. Hundreds of girls applied for Miss Northern Ireland competition and Melissa Patton outperformed everyone in style.

Fermanagh Herald wrote

Judith and Nicola were just two of the 26 beauties who took part in the prestigious event, with Nicola being voted into the top seven by the judges. Trillick girl Fiona Keenan made up the local contingent.

The awards ceremony was attended by the reigning Miss World Tat'ana Kucharova from the Czech Republic, Blue Peter presenter and former Miss Northern Ireland, Zoe Salmon, and last year's winner Catherine Milligan.

Melissa Patton from Belfast went on to take the title and was crowned this year's Miss Northern Ireland.

She will now go on to represent Northern Ireland in the 2007 Miss World contest which is due to be held in December in the People's Republic of China.

 Melissa Patton has won some cash and a car. She also has got a modeling contract. The only problem is that I could not find any picture of her in Internet. I also could not find enough information on her. So, I visited the website of Miss Northern Ireland  and felt disappointed to see that the website has not been updated yet. I did not have any luck in Google image search either. At last, I found a picture of Melissa Patton in Belfast Telegraph.

It wrote:

Besides picking up the title, Melissa, from Joanmount Gardens in Belfast, has also gained automatic entry into the Miss World pageant, which will be held in the city of Sanya in Hainan Province, south China, on December 1 this year.

She also received a month- long, all-expenses paid trip, to China to represent Northern Ireland as well as an exclusive contract with Alison Campbell Modelling Agency, which organises the Miss Northern Ireland competition.

Anyway, my advice for Melissa Patton, Miss Northern Ireland 2007, is that she should first of all either open a website or a blog. This way, she can reach to the maximum people in the world.
