Miss Universe 2007 beauty pageant just finished last week. I tried to cover the pageant in this blog and people are still coming to this blog searching about Miss Universe 2007. It is always a nice thing to see that people come to my blog and read what I write. I am going to cover Miss World 2007 too.

In the competition, Nieve Jennings could impress the juries with her brain and beauty. Now, we have to wait how she performs in Miss World 2007.
I found a media release about Miss Scotland 2007. I am giving the media release here:
Nieve Jennings, from Bishopbriggs was on Saturday night (4th June 2007) crowned the Scottish Sun’s Miss Scotland 2007 in a glittering ceremony at
Glasgow’s Princes Square. With one of the UK’s biggest stars, Myleene Klass, hosting the biggest ever event to date, Nieve and nine other finalists underwent three gruelling rounds – question and answer, dance, and swimwear – in front of a 2,000-strong audience and five top judges.
As well picking up a cheque for £10,000, Nieve, 19, will represent
Scotland in the Miss World contest, which is being held in China in December 2007 and will be viewed by over 2bn people globally. Nieve has also won a top management contract with leading marketing agency DADA who will manage her career and position her as an ambassador for Scotland. In her newly appointed role, she will be flown around the UK and the world representing Scotland. Nieve said: “I still can’t quite believe that I’ve been crowned The Scottish Sun’s Miss Scotland 2007, it’s a dream come true. I never thought I would actually win it, even at the last minute when my name was read out, I was completely astounded. Every morning for the last two month’s I’ve been nervously picking up The Scottish Sun from my local newsagents to see if I’d made it as a finalist and every day, I was still there! I’m absolutely delighted to win such a coveted title and I’ll do my best to represent
Scotland over the next year.” She added: “The last few weeks in the run-up to the grand finale have been the most exciting of my life and I know things are about to get even better. I can’t wait to get started!”
As well as an arduous round of questions from the judges, the lovely ladies had to strut their stuff on stage in stunning Calvin Klein swimwear. However, it was the talent contest which Nieve favoured. Nieve added, “Part of the Miss Scotland contest called for us all to learn and perform an Argentine tango so we could impress the judges with our dance moves. It was my favourite part of the contest and I felt I’d done really well.”
Myleene Klass said: “I loved presenting The Scottish Sun’s Miss Scotland 2007, it was such a glamorous event to be invited along to. All ten finalists on the night were outstanding and Nieve certainly wowed the audiences and the judges. She is clearly beautiful but she also has a lovely flair and manner about her. I had a good chat with her after the event and she is also very savvy and switched on which are qualities everyone in the public eye must possess. I wish Nieve all the very best.”
The Scottish Sun’s Miss Scotland 2007 contest was the biggest yet and was attended by 2,000 of
Scotland’s celebrities, family and friends of the contestants and the general public who have tracked the contest everyday in the Scottish Sun for the last two months. The audience filled out the entire Princes Squarevenue including all its bars and restaurants. The audience didn’t miss a minute of the action as 46 plasma screens were erected around Princes Square David Dinsmore, editor of The Scottish Sun, chaired the judging panel. He said: “The Scottish Sun is delighted to have brought such an exciting event to
Glasgow and to help fulfil someone’s dreams. We had hundreds of entries from girls all over the country and it’s important to raise their profile on a Scottish and world stage. We pulled out all the stops to ensure this year’s Scottish Sun’s Miss Scotland was bigger and better than ever. Nieve will make a gorgeous Miss Scotland and she will be a fantastic ambassador for the country and the Scottish Sun.” Other entertainment on the evening included music from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and top Scottish band, Counselled Out.
What is your idea about her? Do you think that she is beautiful enough to win Miss World 2007? One thing I could not understand was that why there is such a shortage of information in Internet about Miss Scotland 2007 competition and Nieve Jennings! Just do a Google search (and Google News search) with the phrase ‘Miss Scotland 2007’ and you will hardly find anything.
