AFC Asian Cup 2007 Football tournament will start from 7 July 2007 in four different countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Ahead of the tournament, Iraq has recently announced its 23 member squad with some surprise exclusions. Newly appointed Brazilian coach Jorvan Vieira has excluded two star footballers Emad Mohammed and Qusai Munir. However, they are in the reserved list. In the tournament, Iraq is in group A where they have to face Australia, one of the favorites, Oman and one of the hosts Thailand. Iraq could never win the trophy of AFC Asian Cup. The 23 member Iraq squad is as follows:
Ahmed Ali, Noor Sabri, Mohammed Kassid; Haidar Abdulamir, Bassim Abbas, Jassim Hajji, Ali Hussein Rehema, Khaldoun Ibrahim, Haidar Abdulrazzaq, Jassim Gholam, Ali Abbas, Nabil Abbas; Nashat Akram, Saleh Sadir, Mahdi Karim, Haitham Kadhim, Ahmed Abd Ali, Karrar Jassim, Hawar Mulla Mohammad; Younis Mahmoud, Mohammed Nassir, Ahmed Mnajed, Loay Salah.
Captain Younis Mahmoud is most probably the best players at this moment. It is, for sure, that much of Iraq’s success depends on Younis Mahmoud, the present forward of Al-Gharafa, one of the major clubs in Qatar.
Let us see how far Iraq can go in AFC Asian Cup 2007.
The best player on this team is by far Hawar Mohammad Taher, without him they cant do anything hes their playmaker and Younis cannot finish although hes a decent forward
