South Korea is one of the favorite teams in the coming Asian Cup 2007 tournament. However, in Asian Cup, South Korea is not very successful in the last few years. South Korea has won their last Asian Cup in 1960. However they have reached to the semi-final and final in some occasions but could not lift the cup in recent time. This time, under coach Pim Verbeek, Korea is still a favorite to win the championship. However, the Korean side has lost their three top most star footballers from the team due to their injury. Manchester United mid-fielder Park Ji-Sung, Reading striker Seol Ki-Hyeon and Tottenham Hotspur defender Lee Young-Pyo have been out the squad because of their injury.
