Malaysia is not a big contender in the coming Asian Cup 2007. However, as one of the host nations, they will have some advantages over the other teams but you have to be too much optimistic to expect something good from Malaysian team. No doubt, Malaysia has improved a lot in the recent years but it does not mean that they are favorite for the coming Asian Cup 2007. Malaysian Coach Norizan Bakar has already named the final squad for the Asian Cup and he has given much focus on the experienced players who have been in the team for a long time.

I am giving the Malaysian squad below:

Malaysia will play in Group C along with Uzbekistan, China and three time winner Iran. I have to say that compared to the other contenders in the group, Malaysia seems to be weak.  However, I think they have nothing to lose as they are improving day by day in international level.
