Ahead of another Asian Cup, defending champion Japan is now taking preparation for the coming tournament to lift the trophy for third consecutive times. AFC Asian Cup 2007 will kick off from July 7, 2007. Star footballer Shunsuke Nakamura is now one of the most successful Asian footballers in European league. This Celtic playmaker has already earned the star image in Europe for his skill with dead ball. So, it is beyond doubt that he will carry the big part of Japanese hope in AFC Asian Cup 2007.
ABC News reported:
Japan coach Ivica Osim has called up Nakamura, who powered Celtic to clinch their second straight Scottish Premier League title coupled with the 2006-2007 Scottish Cup, only three times in the last 10 internationals.
But the left-footed 29-year-old, along with Frankfurt striker Naohiro Takahara, have managed to gell with the national team which have been dominated by J-League stars.

Shunsuke Nakamura played in the last two Asian Cups as well and played a significant role in the tremendous performance of Japan. In 2004 Asian Cup, Nakamura became the Most Valuable Player. This time, Nakamura will also try to repeat his performance and would like to lift the trophy again. However, as far as I am concerned, Japan will have to face a tough challenge from the tournament newcomer Australia.
