Just a few days are left before the start of 2007 AFC Asian Cup Football tournament. AFC Asian Cup is the most prestigious football tournament for Asian countries. For the first time, Australia will appear in the tournament. Asian Cup Football 2007 will be jointly organized by four countries- Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The tournament will kick off from 7 July 2007 and the tournament will be ended on 29 July 2007.

As the tournament decides the best Asian team for next four years, all the participating Asian countries are now taking preparation for the tournament. If you have a little idea about Asian football then you must know that South Korea is one of the best Asian teams at this moment on the basis of their performance in the international arena over the last decade. However, South Korean fans cannot be happy with the squad for the coming Asian Cup Football 2007 because three top most star footballers including Lee Young-pyo, Reading's Seol Ki-hyeon and Manchester United's Park Ji-sung will not be available in the tournament due to injury.

Last but not the least, coach Pim Verbeek, is now facing problem with the K League clubs as the clubs are reluctant to let the players practice for national team. However, Verbeek is hopeful with the present squad and said that they need train hard to win the tournament. At this moment, Middlesbrough striker Lee Dong-gook is the centre of all hope for South Korea.
