Urvashi Sharma interview (1)

According to Hindu mythology, the most beautiful nymph in the court of Indra, king of Gods is named “Urvashi.” Urvashi Sharma may not be a nymph but definitely her beauty stands out. This 5 feet 8 inch successful model has entered into movies. Her debut movie, Naqaab, is a thriller directed by Abbas-Mustan, the thriller specialists of Bollywood.  Here is an interview of Urvashi Sharma published  in The Times of India.

Urvashi Sharma

The interview opens up with a question about her first movie and her contract with Tips Films. Although Urvashi Sharma started as a model but she always wanted to get into the movies. She believes that as a new comer she has a great start. Eight film contract with a reputed company and getting the chance to work with the best directors of Bollywood what more can a new comer ask for?

You are called a stunner in terms of looks and performance. How do you see yourself?

Wow, it's a big compliment. If they say that, then there must be some element of truth in it… just kidding! Seriously, though I'm confident, I believe that hard work pays, there are no short cuts. There is so much to learn and unlearn. There is so much of expectations from me, from my company which has given me the biggest break of my life. There are my own expectations to fulfill. There is so much responsibility attached. I have to keep on striving hard. The expectations are definitely high. I am lucky to get a complex character for my debut film.

You started your career as a model and now you are doing films. Was this a natural progression?

Modelling was a stepping stone. It gave me the experience to face the camera and understand the camera angles, etc. Since I was doing well in the modelling circuit in Delhi, the shift to Mumbai was a bit easier. It helped me survive here. I had just dreams in my eyes. It's a fulfillment of all my dreams.

You maintained a low profile before the release of your debut...

It's a well thought of strategy by the producer. I trust them completely. I was presented very sensually in Mika's album Something Something, and as a simple Indian girl in Atif 's Doorie. And in Naqaab they would like to present my versatility. Maybe I'm the Naqaab of Naqaab.

Urvashi Sharma

Naqaab has not done as expected but Urvashi Sharma has been getting lots of offers from various directors. Let’s see what this Punjabi beauty has to offer to the audience in her upcoming films.
