Sir Ben Kingsley is one of the famous British actors. He first gained popularity by acting in Gandhi, in 1982. Directed by Richard Attenborough, Kingsley played the character of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Ben Kingsley’s father, Rahimtulla Harji Bhanji, was from Gujarat. Gandhi is also from Gujarat.

Director Doug Lefter studied character animation at the California Institute of Arts for two years. Then he worked in the Walt Disney Company. His major animation works include The fox and the hound, The Black Cauldron, The Little Mermaid. As story board artist he has worked in Total Recall, Shattered, Hard target and Friday the 13^th. Before Last Legion, Dough also directed another epic movie titled, Dragon Heart: The New Beginning.
Aishwarya Rai plays the character of a Byzantine warrior “Mira.” She had to learn horse riding and sword fighting for her role. She also bought the distribution rights of the movie in India.

The principal photography of the movie started in 2005. However, Martha Laurentiis and Dino De Laurentiis had been planning to make a movie on Rome for more than six years.
For the movie, Martha and Dino chose the novel of Massimo Manfredi. Nobody knows what happened to the twelve year old Romulus after he went to exile. The story starts from there. In the movie, it is shown that Romulus goes to Britain, the last legion of the Roman Empire.
