This is the third time a film by Chopra has been selected as India's entry in the Oscars' foreign film category. It still needs to go through another round of screening to become a nominee. The U.S. Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences usually narrows down submissions to five nominees.

 

"I can say that it is just the beginning for us," Chopra was quoted as saying by the Mumbai Mirror newspaper. "I just hope we go there and make India proud."
