Having a lot of skilled and talented workers is a must for the development of any country. Only just 2 decades ago, India was considered to be a very poor country. Very few people could think that India would develop so much at such a short time. The main reason behind India’s success is that India could have a huge pool of skilled workers who are ready to work in a cheap salary. So, I am happy to see that India has very good ranking in Global Talent Index.
Times of India reported: India will retain 10th position as the world's leading country for nurturing and developing talent over the next five years, says the first ever Global Talent Index (GTI). Asian Pacific countries are giving a tough competition to the US and Europe when it comes to attracting and nurturing talent says the Index developed by executive search firm Heidrick and Struggles and the Economist Intelligence Unit covering thirty countries chosen for the survey based on a representative geographical spread.

India will be followed by Malaysia, which will remain in 12th place, South Korea, which will rise from 15th to 13th, and Japan (16th to 14th).
It is quite impressive that India is ahead of Malaysia and South Korea in the list. Well, I sometimes feel that India is not doing enough to increase the number of skilled people. Many Indian universities do not have enough funds to take world class research projects. I would really love to see Indian government providing more funds to the universities.
