You already know that India has won the fifth ODI against England, reducing the lead of England to 3-2. India’s top order batsmen were in really good form in the match as they piled up 324 runs after 50 overs. However, except Sourav Ganguly no other Indian bowlers could show any impressive performance. With his gentle pace, Ganguly took two wickets conceding just 26 runs in 7 overs. However, India’s fielding was really very poor in the match as they missed two important catches. After the match, Indian captain Rahul Dravid also admitted that they needed to improve in fielding. So, ahead of the sixth ODI India should think about their fielding seriously.
Sportinglife reported:
"The reasons for that could be many but the simple fact is we're not fielding well.
"We've got some areas of concern as well because a lot of our better cricketers are not necessarily our best fielders as well - that's something we may have to learn to adjust to and do the best we can.
Fielding is an all time problem for India. India had to suffer a lot in the past just because of poor fielding. However, to be up to date with the modern cricket, it is needed to have a good fielding side. So, India’s fielding coach Robin Singh should think about the matter seriously. India has to be good at fielding in the sixth ODI if they want to make the series level.
