Before Aishwarya Bachchan, it was Shilpa Shetty who was asked to do the role “Sophie” in the sequel of Pink Panther. Aishwarya Bachchan’s international agent, Simone Sheffield, said that Aishwarya Bachchan was first approached to work in Pink Panther 2 with Steve Martin but Shilpa Shetty’s spokesperson and publicist, Dale Bhagawar, refuted the claim.
He said that two months ago Shilpa Shetty was approached to play the role. Apun Ka Choice reports:
To back his statements, Bhagwagar disclosed the content of an initial mail to Shilpa from Valerie Lindquist who is a Casting Assistant at 'Ilene Starger Casting' agency in New York City requesting a check on the availability of dates of the "Big Brother" winner.
"Please let us know her availability as soon as possible. If she is available we would like to have some demo material on her," said the mail forwarded by Bhagwagar to the media. This documented proof, for now is a huge blow to Ash’s PR machine.
The shooting of the movie started in Paris from August 20 and end in the first week of November.
Pink Panther 2 will be Aishwarya Bachchan’s fourth Hollywood movie. None of her earlier movies made any impact in the US box office. Critics dumped her latest movie, Last Legio,n to be slow and lackluster, lacking a good narrative. In Pink Panther 2 Aishwarya Bachchan is playing the role of a detective who joins with detective Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin) to catch a thief.
