Tsunami took place in 2004 December and it devastated the costal areas of many countries in Asia. So, for these people, Tsunami means total devastation. Now, there is another worrying news that Tsunami may hit again but this time it will mainly affect the northern part of Bay of Bengal. This news has been covered with importance by the major media organizations yesterday.

The northern end of the Bay of Bengal could be at risk of giant earthquakes and tsunamis in the coming decades, an Australian study concludes.

Such events have been thought unlikely there, in contrast to the area further south where the 2004 tsunami began.

But the new work, published in the journal Nature, has found "compelling evidence" for tsunami-triggering earthquake activity to the north.

This is alarming news indeed. The only problem is that we don’t know when this new Tsunami will place. If this prediction is true then Bangladesh, Myanmar and India would be badly devastated. Since, all of these countries are densely populated therefore there is every possibility that Tsunami 2.0 will cause more loss of life than the original Tsunami of 2004.

We should not get panicked but we should try to improve our emergency rescue operation facilities.
