Geoff Lawson about India vs Pakistan Series 2007

Geoff Lawson, the coach of Pakistan cricket team, has recently said that the upcoming Pakistan tour to India 2007 will be tightly contested series. What is more important is that he compared India vs Pakistan series with Ashes saying that the upcoming series was going to be bigger than Ashes. Both India and Pakistan lost home series recently just after their impressive performance in Twenty20 World Cup. The series will begin through the first ODI set to be held on 5 November. The two rivals will play three Test and five ODI matches in a month long series.

BBC reported:

"Having toured India a number of times, I know people follow an India-Pakistan match with extreme passion," he said.

"At times it is a little bit more than the sport - bigger than the Ashes - so I'm looking forward to it."

After joining as the coach of Pakistan team in July this year, Geoff Lawson took Pakistan to the final of the inaugural Twenty20 World Championship. However, Pakistan lost Test and ODI series against South Africa at home. So, Pakistani fans expect better result from Geoff Lawson about India vs Pakistan Series 2007.

No doubt Geoff Lawson a good coach. Under his coaching Pakistan could get up in the final round. Then they lost their odi and test series being a good and impressive performance. India and pakistan both are two arch rivals team in cricket world. They are also much expected team to play agaisnt each other. can Pakistan show any impressive performance against India team under the coach of Geoff Lawson?

Geoff Lawson has been impressive so far with his coaching assignment in Pakistan team. Pakistan has done tremendously well in Twenty20 world cup. The way they outdo some of the cricket powers was really a revelation. However, I got shocked to see the performance of Pakistan team in the home series against South Africa. What I feel is that Pakistan needs a couple of quality spinners. Danish Kaneria has been doing his job well. However, in ODI, Pakistan needs a regular spinner. I think, Geoff Lawson can serve the Pakistan team for a long time.
