Ahead of the upcoming India vs Pakistan series 2007, International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently unveiled the names of the umpires and match referees who have been appointed for Test and ODI series. The two arch rivals- India and Pakistan- will play five ODI matches and three Test matches in the series. In the ODI series, local umpires will also be appointed along with the ICC chosen umpires. However, Test series will be operated just by the umpires from abroad.

ODI series match referee – Roshan Mahanama

Nov 5– India v Pakistan (ODI), Guwahati – Ian Gould and local appointment

Nov 8– India v Pakistan (ODI), Mohali – Ian Gould and local appointment

Nov 12– India v Pakistan (ODI), Kanpur – Ian Gould and local appointment

Nov 15– India v Pakistan (ODI), Gwalior – Billy Doctrove and local appointment

Nov 18– India v Pakistan (ODI), Jaipur – Billy Doctrove and local appointment

Test series match referee – Ranjan Madugalle

Nov 22-26 – India v Pakistan (Test), Delhi – Simon Taufel and Billy Doctrove

Nov 30-Dec 4– India v Pakistan (Test), Kolkata – Billy Doctrove and Billy Bowden

Dec 8-12– India v Pakistan (Test), Bangalore – Simon Taufel and Billy Bowden.

It is interesting that Fourth Umpire for both ODI and Test series are from Sri Lanka. No doubt, cricket fans of these two countries are now eagerly waiting for the opening ODI match to be held on 5 November.
