Sify.com reports:
"It's been a gruelling but rewarding time. I've been virtually sleeping on the sets. But, finally, we've zeroed-in on Jan 25 as the release date," Gowariker told IANS.
"It's a good week because we get the full three-day holiday weekend, Republic Day and all."
Rang De Basanti was released during the same weekend two years ago.
"Was it?" Gowariker seemed unaware of the coincidence.
"It just seems like the right moment. It's a pity we couldn't make it on schedule on Oct 12."
In the Eid weekend, two other major movies have been released: Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag by Yash Raj Films and “Comedy King” Priyadarshan’s Bhool Bhulaiya. The theatrical trailer of Jodhaa Akbar was not attached with these two movies in theatres. It was shown independently.
Lead actor of the movie, Hrithik Roshan was also excited about the trailer. He was happy that the trailer has received good response from the people.
Ashutosh Gowariker has made his reputation by directing movies like Swades, Lagaan: Once upon a Time in India. For Jodhaa Akbar, he has been working for last six years. Finally, the movie will be released in January 2008.
