If you are a fan of cricket then you must be familiar with the names of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis. However, what you do not know is that these two former great bowlers of Pakistan used to hate each other while playing together for Pakistan. Wasim Akram has recently admitted this truth. They even did not talk to each other on and off the field. However, he has also said that because of their rivalry, Pakistan was benefited as they had competition to outdo each other in terms of performance. Both of these two great pacers captained Pakistan in international cricket.

Gulf News reported:

"We hated each other so much that we were not even on talking terms both on and off the field; but the fact is that Pakistan benefited from our rivalry," remarked Akram, who was here to attend the HSBC Cricket Challenge.

Their rivalry was so intense that "every time Waqar took wickets, I too would too get charged up to do the same," Akram revealed, while adding that it were the opponents who actually suffered from their rivalry.

It is true that having a competition on the field among the players is good for the team. Besides, it is also true that every player should come forward to help his team mates whenever they are in trouble. It is one of the pre-requisite of team work. So, without talking each other I do not know how Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis could set examples for young players in the team!
