Baby in the Oven and Killing Female Fetus in Womb in South Asia

It is implied that every mother loves her baby. We rarely find any exception to this rule but exceptions happen and sometimes these kinds of exceptions give us a lot of pain. So, when I read the news of baby in the oven then I felt deeply sad for the baby. This is a real story and Fox News covered it this January (2007).

Fox News wrote:

The oven had not gotten hot enough to burn the child, whose age was not immediately available.

Sharlyn Singh, 29, was at the Orange County Jail on a $15,000 bond Tuesday.

Thanks God that the baby did not get burnt as the oven was not hot enough. There is no excuse for Sharlyn Singh to put her baby in the over.

Wftv.com provided a better description of the incident:

While the baby's father was downstairs moving, the baby's uncle told police, Singh left the apartment and he heard the baby crying, but couldn't find the child. According to the police report, the uncle asked Singh, who was standing next to the oven, where the baby was, but she left the apartment without answering. Police said the uncle then noticed the oven was on and found the baby inside.

Police said that, when they responded, they did find greasy marks from the inside of the oven on the baby.

You can find a picture of Sharlyn Singh here too. This is really a horrific incident and I really wish that we never have to again read this kind of report.

The mother was later tried by a court and was punished for putting a baby in the oven.

Local6.com wrote:

A Central Florida mother accused in January of placing her child in an oven and turning it on was given two years probation in a plea deal, a judge ruled Wednesday.

Along with probation, Sharlyn Singh, 29, must complete a mandatory parenting class and undergo counseling after she pleaded guilty to one charge of child abuse, Local 6 News reported.

By the way, I have to inform you that this is not a new story. In fact, it happened in January of 2007 that means more than 10 months ago. Today, many people became interested about it in Google Trends and from there, I got the idea to write about it. Well, I am not even sure if people are searching about the story of Sharlyn Singh or not. As soon as I can find out what people are looking for then I will provide you the update.

I feel that it does not matter that the incident of Baby in the Oven took place more than 10 months ago. What is important is that Baby in the Oven incident is a reminder to all of us that babies are vulnerable everywhere. This baby did not suffer this misfortune in a third world poor country. The incident took place in the rich West.

Well, here I like to catch the attention of you about killing female fetus in South Asia. This has become a huge problem in India. In Indian society, having a daughter is considered to be a curse to many families. So, they first carry out test and then kill the female fetus. This has happened to millions of female fetuses in the last 1 decade. Now, the same problem is spreading to Nepal.

baby in the oven news really hurt me. i can't think such an incident can happen in the earth. How a mother can put her baby into oven? This baby is really lucky as the over didn't hot enough. Is the mother suffering any mentally problem? if it is then i think she need treatment. Otherwide she can do any rare incident again. Then anyone can be killed in his hand. So, i would requst to govt to take some important steps to stop such an incident. And also opposite to killing female fetuses. And i request to all men to think who carried them 10 monty 10 days in fetus? who saved them from all disustrous and problem?

And I found thsi blog from Google Trends. I would like to know what caused this to reach the top like it did though.

The news shocked me so much. How any mother can burn her child? It is really unbelievable. I also saw the picture of the woman named Sharlyn Singh. It looks that Sharlyn Singh is not mentally fit well. I have some questions that why the women tried to kill her child with burn and why her husband was walking on the downstairs at that time?
I think the police will find out the cause so that no one dares to do these kinds of works.
I want to thank the media to publish the news strongly. I am strongly recommended to take a proper step by observing all the reports.
I am agree with the writer that in India and Nepal this kind of incident happened some time.
