India vs Pakistan test series 2007 kicked off earlier today with lots of expectation from cricket loving fans. The first test of the series is now going on at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium, Delhi. After the end of first day, it seems India has an edge over Pakistan. Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik won the toss and elected to bat first. However, Pakistan batsmen could not prove this decision right. Pakistani top order failed to show any resistance against Indian bowlers. Pakistan lost their five top order batsman within 83 runs. Opener Yasir Hameed scored 29 runs. Mohammad Yousuf also failed to make a big score before getting out at 27 runs.
In the middle order, Misbah-ul-Haq played a valiant innings of unbeaten 71 runs. Kamran Akmal scored 30 but again failed to make it long. In the tale end, Mohammad Sami is proving good support to Misbah-ul-Haq. Sami is now batting at 20. So, after end of the first day, Pakistan score is now 210/8. Misbah-Sami ninth wicket partnership now stands at 68.
Among the Indian bowlers, captain Anil Kumble is most successful taking three important wickets of Pakistan. Pacer Zaheer Khan took two wickets. I think, Pakistan is now under pressure. Both Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Sami need to show same performance tomorrow to bring a decent total for Pakistan.
