Jaguar-Land Rover Bid from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.

In the last 3 entries, I mainly wrote about the Jaguar-Land Rover Bid from Tata Motors Limited. So, it is great to see that another Indian company is a rival of Tata Motors Limited in this bid. It is doing this bid jointly with Apollo Management. Apollo Management is a private equity firm.

Wall Street Journal wrote:

The comments came on the same day that representatives of Mahindra and two rival bidders -- India's Tata Motors Ltd. and One Equity Partners, a unit of J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. -- were meeting with British labor representatives to discuss their bids for Jaguar and Land Rover, according to people familiar with the matter.

Labor leaders in the United Kingdom are seeking assurances that the brands' new owner would protect jobs and factories in the country. Jaguar and Land Rover together employ around 16,000 people in the U.K.

So, outsourcing will become a major issue in Jaguar-Land Rover Bid. It is natural that Brtiish workers will want to keep their jobs. At this moment, Tata Motors Limited has an edge over Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. However, if Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Can address the concern of outsoaring of jobs successfully then it can change its position in the race.

What do you think about it?
