I am afraid that I am bit late in writing about this news but better late than never! This Wednesday, there was a press release titled: Know More Media and b5media Announce Partnership. Know More Media and b5media are blog networks.
According to the press release:
As part of the agreement, Know More Media will license b5media’s core publishing technology, distribution, payment, and infrastructure platforms. In addition to platform licensing, Know More Media will also leverage b5media’sextensive advertising sales network and relationships. b5media will exclusively represent and sell advertising on behalf of the Know More Media business blog network. In exchange for these services, b5media will be acquiring a portion of equity in Know More Media. While this partnership agreement is designed to benefit both parties, the companies will remain separate entities with separate management and publishing teams.
You know that SouthAsiaBiz is a part of Know More Media and I write for Know More Media. However, I guess there will not be any major change to this blog. Anyway, this deal made me think about the power of new media. I started blogging for Know More Media in March 2006. That time, Know More Media was a new network (I think only 4 months old). Things have improved a lot for Know More Media as its traffic has seen impressive growth in the last 6-7 months.
I feel that this deal will be remembered as an important milestone in the history of a blogging (the new media).
