Nehru Stadium Guwahati: The Venue of India vs Pakistan 1st ODI

Just two days are left before the first ODI of upcoming India vs Pakistan series 2007. The first ODI will be held on 5 November 2007. With much excitement among the fans, the match will be held in Nehru Stadium, Guwahati, Assam. Since its establishment in 1962, the stadium organized many international matches so far. The first international match in this ground was held between India and West Indies in 1983.

Obviously, the wicket is expected to be spinner friendly. However, due to early morning fog, pace bowlers can get some extra movement from the wicket in the morning. So, in the first few overs, batsmen must be very careful in playing shots. The organizers are eager to make a sporting wicket.

Telegraph India reported:

From a sporting pitch to a green and fast outfield, enough field cover and an audible and efficient public address system, the ACA is putting in place everything to ensure a good match for both the players and fans.

It is a good initiative to make the outfield competitive. India’s wickets are typically spinner friendly. So, I am not sure if there will be any difference this time. India and Pakistan will play three Test and five ODI matches in the coming series.

Your assumption is right that India always make their grounds spinner friendly. According to your article, you wrote that the organizers are trying to make the ground for spotting wicket. Here is two points 1. As Indian players dominate spin well, 2. In Pakistan team there is no spin bowler who is well.
You told that he ground will be foggy and moisture in the morning but it is helpful for pace bowlers not for spin. According to you, the ground will favor them who will touch and will decide bat first. Ok, we will see what the condition appears.
